Preamble
AQ candidates from and external candidates, wishing to take an AQ with are required to have a Registration and Payment Account on the AQ Registration and Payment Website.
- employees, please visit the AQ Registration and Payment Website and enter the following credentials in the Login box to enable your account:
- Username: your firstname.lastname@ycdsb.ca email address (eg. anna.garito@ycdsb.ca)
- Password: your computer password (the one used for Maplewood, MyPortal, etc.)
- Non- employees: Create an account on the AQ Registration and Payment Website.
Once you have logged in to the AQ Registration and Payment Website, you may put in your registration request for the AQ course and Session that is being offered (either Fall, or Spring, or Summer) by the Registration Request Deadline below. Please note the following:
- by registering for an AQ you are authorizing tuition payment as well;
- you may make changes to your registration request (such as cancellation without penalty) until the Registration Deadline. Please refer to the Tuition Refund Schedule
- Tuition payment will be processed after the Registration Request Deadline only for courses that have been confirmed. See AQ Registration and Payment Information for more details on this process;
- Eligibility: It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that they are eligible for the AQ prior to registering.
- All must be completed prior to registration. Part 2/Specialist AQs, includes a which is automatically created as part of the registration process. You will receive a copy of this form when you complete your registration.
- Required number of teaching days for one successful teaching year, for Part 2 courses: 194
- Required number of teaching days for two successful teaching years, for Specialist courses: 388 (with 194 days in the subject of specialization).
- Employees: No further action is required
- Non Employees: Please submit to your Superintendent of Human Resources and return to anna.garito@ycdsb.ca by the payment processing date
- All AQ courses are offered online (synchronously and asynchronously) until further notice and attendance at all synchronous classes is mandatory (refer to Attendance and Accommodation Procedure);
- Courses are subject to sufficient enrolment. Part 1 and/or Part 2 and/or Specialist courses may be combined to meet minimum enrolment numbers or courses may be deferred to a future session.
AQ Registration
Course Tuition Fees and Payment Information
All AQ courses are subject to a tuition fee of $650.00 per course except Religious Education in Catholic Schools, Part 1, which is subject to a tuition fee of $500.00.Candidates must ensure payment is received by by the Payment Processing Date prior to the commencement of the course. Tuition fees are subject to change by without prior notice.Once you have submitted your registration request for an AQ course by theRegistration Request Deadline, you are making a commitment to pay for the tuition cost for the AQ through a Pay Pal as a PayPal Account user or as a Guest (using your credit card.) Please be sure you are aware of any additional PayPal service charges.
Your transaction will appear as “pending” until the course has been confirmed, and by the Payment Processing Date, your transaction will appear as “completed.”
You will only be charged for AQ courses that are confirmed by the AQ Program Officer. Courses that are cancelled by the following the Registration Request Deadline will not be charged.
reserves the right to withdraw any candidate who does not submit the necessary prerequisite documentation (Certificate Of Successful Teaching Experience) or who does not submit the AQ course tuition fee by theRegistration Request Deadline.
Course Subsidies
In order to qualify for a subsidy, the candidate must first register, pay the course tuition fee, and successfully complete the AQ course to be deemed eligible. Course subsidies are processed automatically upon successful completion of the course and may take up to 16 weeks to process. All course subsidy payments will be issued to employees on their pay stubs.
Please note that the following courses are subsidized for candidates as follows:

Income Tax Receipts
All courses that are not subsidized are eligible for an Income Tax Receipt. In February of each year, candidates will receive an email providing direction on how to fill in their T2202 form.
